Tour: Shattered Souls /Giveaway

Shattered Souls blog tour & giveaway

The synopsis:

It has been thirty years since Lexi made her choice. With time, many things have changed, but others… never will.

As her past comes back to haunt her, one vampire is destroyed, and Lexi is the one blamed for his true death. She is now being hunted by her own kind, and as much as Nicholas tries to protect her on his own, that is not enough. He needs help, and he values her far too much to ask for help from just anyone.

They encounter ghosts of their pasts, face their worst fears, and above all, heartbreaks strong enough to shatter souls beyond repair.

Shattered Souls Excerpts:

“There was an insatiable passion and hunger in the way that he held and kissed me. There was just a certain urgency in the way he moved.  It was almost as if we only had one night to live instead of an eternity. In decades, this was the first time I ever sensed Nicholas feeling uncertain about everything other than what was happening in that very moment.”
***
“I want you to know that I love you more than I’ve ever loved anyone else in my entire existence.”

For this blog stop I 've chosen to do an author interview with
Daniele Lanzarotta. Here is my interview

1. Who designed the cover of your book?

Meredith Hancock.  She is awesome and has actually designed all of my book covers.  We usually discuss what I have in mind for the cover and she works her magic.

2. How did you come up with the title?

I actually went through several titles for this final book in the Imprinted Souls Series.  While writing Shattered Souls, I realized that at one point or another, all characters were getting hurt (emotionally).  A scene came up where a character felt as if his/her (haha no spoilers here) soul was shattered and I knew that was it: Shattered Souls was the perfect title.

3. Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

From the most random places!  I can be listening to a song and ideas just come to me.  Sometimes it can be pictures, places…

4. Do you work with an outline, or just write?

I started out just writing, which worked well for the first book.  As the series developed, there was no getting away from having an outline. I now work with a basic/general outline but the characters usually take over and I don’t stick to it at all. I love it when that happens though.

5. What do you think makes a good story?

It all depends on what type of reader you are.  To me, the following elements make a good story:  strong characters and character development, twists that you don’t see coming, and cliffhangers that leave you wanting more and more.

6. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

Though question.  The most surprising thing I learned probably relates to the more technical aspect of writing.  Writers block doesn’t exist… at least in my opinion.  There are just times when you need to take a step away and then go back to it, or work on another scene and things will
just come to you.

7. Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I’ve always enjoyed writing, but it was after reading so many young adult books and getting vampires imprinted in my mind, that I truly started writing and I haven’t stopped since.

8. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

This is probably a challenge that most people would like to have… it is the fact that I get too many ideas at one time. Right now I have ideas for 5 different books and I have to write them as they come because if I don’t, it just never comes out the same way later on.

9. What is one of your favorite quotes?

"Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall." - William Shakespeare
